TAURUS CHAIR
Regular price
$4,800
Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia formed Rooms in 2007. Their early pieces mimicked the Soviet-era furniture they each grew up with. Influenced by childhood memories, like a TV table, or a sofa that was very Soviet in form and shape.
For the “Wild Minimalism” collection, the duo eschewed the “fake world,” seeking solutions that drew on nature and a primitivism.
Like its title, the Taurus chair possesses the zodiac qualities of the iconic bull (complete with horns on the seat-back). Exceptionally crafted from metal, timber and brass, the chair has an architectural, slightly otherworldly quality. This rigorous silhouette is offset by the somewhat rough-hewn, handcrafted quality.
