DELPHINE CORDIE
DELPHINE CORDIE
Delphine Cordie is a Belgian designer who crafts timeless jewellery pieces for special moments in life. Every wall sculpture evokes the grounding energy of a graceful yet playful optimism.
Cordie’s personal story with jewellery started on her sixth birthday, when she received a box of beads from her mother. She studied Communications at Ghent University, yet never stopped designing. In 2009, Cordie launched her first jewellery brand, inspired by gifts of ‘souvenir’ jewels from her grandmother, working in collaboration with Italian craftsmen.
Using new materials, techniques and proportions, she launched the Utopia ‘interior jewellery’ collection in 2023. Designed to be hung on the wall, the Utopia pieces are made of balanced assemblages of natural materials. She undertakes a rigorous process of polishing, sculpting, finishing and assembling at her Ghent studio.
Each Utopia object is meant to become a source of inspiration and conversation for an interior space, just like a piece of her jewellery is for the body. “A jewel often stays hidden in a box, Utopia is designed to be experienced every day.”
