WORKS ON NATURE
Julie Nelson's first book 'Works on Nature' is now available to buy from Garde, who have sold her sculptural ceramic pieces since 2019.
The book visualizes her creative process, experiments, studio and the coastal environment that inspires much of her ceramics.
It is introduced with a beautiful essay by art writer Emily Steer.
Works on Nature is made of 108 pages printed on 170 gsm Circle offset white paper which is thread sewn, Swiss bound with a hard foil-stamped cover of one of her drawings. At intervals the sections are wrapped in 60 gsm translucent IBO printed interludes, with text observations and the list of illustrations.
The book has Swiss binding, meaning that it opens flat so that the images are to be enjoyed in full without impacting on the structural integrity of the binding.
Only 500 copies of the first edition have been printed.
