BODIL KJAER FOR KARAKTER
Almost floating mid-air, Bodil Kjærs’ design has been called ‘The most beautiful desk in the world’ – or, the ‘James Bond desk’ as it was featured prominently in three early Bond movies. This geometric design exudes a visual lightness, and though stunningly simply, still exhibits Kjaer's commitment to functionality, providing sufficient storage to be used at work or in the home.
Originally called a ‘working table’ by Bodil Kjær, one of Denmark’s most revered furniture designers whose work was rarely produced in great numbers and was bought originally by people who had both the vision and the funds to buy the best! Originally designed in 1959 for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
