UNEARTHED VESSEL 2242
Regular price
$3,250
New York based artist, Jeffrey Loura, creates organic elemental vessels. Jeffrey Loura’s pieces are a meditation on binary concepts that shape our existence: individualism vs community; female vs male; life vs death. He organizes shapes creating tension between the negative and the positive. Loura seeks to embody the ancient and elemental, expressed in modern form.
Each vessel is made by separate components thrown on a wheel. An application of colored slips and colorants are then added to the surface and burnished giving it a patina. At each firing, the surface is sanded and another colorant is added creating the matte, smooth finish.
