The LAVA collection is a series of pieces
exploring the essential, vital elements of
the ceramic process Water. Fire. Clay. in
reference to the powerful element of Lava.
Poetry in the contrast of the strength
of the stoneware once fired which comes
from this smooth, soft, fragile material which
is the clay at its beginning. Those pieces
interpreting the relationship between the
primal nature of the golden, incandescent
and malleable Lava which turns into
a strong, textured, dark Volcanic Rock set
by the air temperature. This primal material
transition is at the beginning of a new land.
