In the Codice series, the studio wanted to translate and abstract the idea of the knowledge and essence of a Códice known in Mayan and Mexican culture. Exploring the importance of communication and its evolution through time, the wood carvings both in its geometrical and systematic patterned repetition on its doors contrast with the organic carvings made by the technique of “conchitas," hand-chiseled by master artisans in Antigua Guatemala.
